I'm not going to lie. I'm a blog addict and I'll admit it. I wake up in the morning and I check 7 different blogs. I dread weekends because, God forbid, these bloggers don't post on the weekends.
One of these blogs is called The Handmade Home.
Want some interior eye candy? Holy crap. This is some good stuff.
Anyways, sometimes I come across an article or blog post that really hits the nail on the head for me:
So many clients of ours come into my house and tell me they're too afraid to paint that "heirloom" piece or that piece that their parents gave them for their wedding or blah, blah, blah. And what I want to tell them is:
IF YOU DON'T LOVE IT - PAINT IT.
Sure, painting is time consuming, but within a few days, you go from the boring, blah, hated before, to a sensational after that you enjoy just looking at every single day.
Our house used to be that house - all beige and builder basic with what I call a bunch of "adult" furniture...you know, big box store furniture with colours like "expresso".
I hated all of it. From the get go.
And then my husband finally said what I'd been thinking the entire time, "Get rid of it, or paint it."
So I did. And guess what? "Adult" furniture...can be AWESOME...especially in colours like, "Nantucket Spray" and "Ocean Pearl".
So just do it - Go ahead and paint it!!
